GENERAL QUESTIONS
+ Are you a winery?
We do not produce our own wines, rather, we are an agent for several PA Licensed Wineries. These wineries may be based in other states in the US, but hold a PA Limited Winery License.
+ How is it possible to offer out-of-state wines in Pennsylvania, directly?
The PLCB Limited Winery Information Book (PLCB-458) states: Limited winery licenses can be held by any in-state or out-of-state winery that produces less than 200,000 gallons per year of alcoholic ciders, wines and wine coolers.
All freedoms that apply to any in-state PA winery, therefore apply to a US winery with a PA License: Including direct delivery, on-site sales, online sales, and honest-to-God wholesale pricing for wine retailers and licensees.
The Backroads Wine Company is based in PA and acts as an agent for a portfolio of PA-licensed wineries. We curate their product, ship, store, offer and fulfill it on their behalf.
If you are a licensed Pennsylvania Winery, Brewery, Distillery, restaurant or retailer, we can legally offer you anything from of our portfolio of wines.
We keep copies of all licenses for our registered wineries and can present them to you upon request.

+ What hardware and accessories are required to serve from kegs?
The process is the same as serving beer from a keg, the only difference being that you need a higher grade of Stainless Steel connectors and vapor lock tubing to prevent oxidation of the wine. The best gas mix for wines is a blend of Nitrogen and CO2, commonly known as the, "Guinness Mix."
